Did the Imperial Japanese Army's invasion to Malaysia affected the independence of Malaysia?

I went to the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery in the rain.
There was an exhibition about the Kuala Lumpur invasion of the Imperial Japanese Army.
It was written as follows: in the exhibition.

Kuala lumpur was occupied by the Japanese army
from January 11,1942 to August 15,1945,a period
which almost halted the economy. When Japan
surrendered after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima
and Nagasaki,the British returned to Kuala lumpur.

I thought to see this exhibition.
Is it economical for anyone about "halted the economy"?
And
This country will independently August 31, 1957
What was the impact of the Japanese military in its independence? Or did not?

雨の中をクアラルンプールシティーギャラリーへ行ってきました。
旧日本軍のクアラルンプール侵攻についての展示がありました。
展示には次のように書いてありました。

「経済の停滞」とはだれのための経済なのか？
そして
この国は１９５７年８月３１日に独立しますが
その独立に日本軍の影響はなにかあったのか？なかったのか？
