Botamochi (Ohagi)

I ate in the middle of the night Ohagis (Rice cake dumplings).
These were delicious and very modest sweetness.
By the way
The name of Ohagis depends on the season.
Botamochi(Botan rice cake) is in spring.
Yofune(night ship) is in summer.
Ohagi (Bush clover rice cake) is in autumn.
Kitamado(North window) is in winter.
Knowing the origin of the name
I think Japanese people in the past and wonder how gracious.

お萩（牡丹餅）を深夜に食べました。
甘さ控えめでとてもおいしかったです。
ところで
おはぎの名前は季節によって異なります。
春は牡丹餅(ぼたもち）。
夏は夜舟（よふね）。
秋はお萩（おはぎ）。
冬は北窓（きたまど）。
名前の由来を知れば
昔の日本人はなんと風流なのだろうと思います。
