To the northeast of the city of Queretaro where I live now, there is a small hilly area called "ZIBATA" as a new residential area. It is close to Queretaro Airport. On the 12th of this month, a large swarm of Monalca butterflies flocked to the roadside trees. Maybe they were born in south-central Mexico this winter and are on their way to North America in their 4s or 5s.

今住んでいるケレタロ市内の北東に、新しい住宅地として"ZIBATA"という小高い丘陵地があります。ケレタロ空港に近いところです。今月の１２日、街路樹にモナルカ蝶の大群が群がっていました。多分、彼らはこの冬メキシコ中南部で生まれ、これから４代か５代かけて北米に行く途中の蝶たちだと思います。
